I am reading a book about American history and these two characters recently popped up. Found them interesting.
-Edward Hyde, 3rd Earl of Clarendon was the governor of New York from 1702-1708 until the colonists ran him out of town for his behavior. What had them all riled up? He pretty much constantly wore women's clothes. This is debated by scholars but the book I read presented it as fact. He presented himself as a woman to the delight of the Queen.
-More straightforward is Chevalier d'Eon. He was a French diplomat, spy and solider who presented as a woman for a large part of his life. He was androgynous looking and lived as a woman for the last 33 years of his life. After his death, doctors discovered "male organs in every respect perfectly formed". He even fenced on the women's team.
Fun stuff from history. Anyone else know any fun stories like this?

I remembered someone that would have been classed a trans girl, in that they would fit right in here. Their name was Henry Paget, 5th Marquess of Anglesey. A British peer from the late 19th century, who ran up huge debts (the equivalent of £60 million) in financing a very lavish lifestyle. They converted a chapel at their country house to 150-seat theatre where they took lead roles in very expensive productions, many (all?) of the roles being female. It is notable that in all the photos I've seen of them that they are sporting a thick moustache. A journalist described them thus - "Bearing the form of a man, he yet had all the tastes, something even of the appearance, of not only a woman, but, if the phrase be permissible, a very effeminate woman" For more information here's their Wikipedia page - 5th Marquess of Anglesey

Interesting! I can't think of any examples myself at the moment, but if any do come to me, I'll be sure to post them here
