So I had some writing inspiration today, although its a bit silly. I want to talk about bows. Bows are awesome. They add instant femininity to just about anything. You take a softball player, dressed up in her dirty uniform with black sunblock ink under her eyes carrying her bat and looking real intimidating. Now you put a nice pretty bow in her hair and all of a sudden she is both strong and intimidating and pretty and feminine. Bows can also turn an already feminine thing and makes it even more girly. Put a big bow on a dress, or on a pair of underwear, or really anything and all of a sudden the femininity is doubled.
I think if I were to wake up as a girl tomorrow, there would be a lot of bows in my wardrobe. I just love how it allows you to be the best of both. Yes, I am a strong. Yes I am tough. Yes I am intimidating. But I am also a pretty girl. Deal with it.
I absolutely love it.
What do you all think? Are there other items of clothing or accessories that can help pull this type of attitude off that I am not thinking of?

Lol Francie I googled "Buttons and Bows" and it popped up with a song from 1948. Made me giggle. In the song the woman is basically complaining to her man for taking her out into the middle of nowhere and she wants to move to the city.
Don't bury me in this prairie Take me where the cement grows Let's move down to some big town Where they love a gal by the cut o' her clothes And I'll stand out in buttons and bows
I'll love you in buckskin Or skirts that I've homespun But I'll love ya' longer, stronger where Yer friends don't tote a gun
My bones denounce the buckboard bounce And the cactus hurts my toes Let's vamoose where gals keep usin' Those silks and satins and linen that shows And I'm all yours in buttons and bows
Lol gotta love an old timey song.

Pardon the thread necromancy but, well, it fits here lol.
Was feeling a bit meh this evening (nothing untoward, just going through daughter's clothes taking out the ones that are now too small. Always makes me think how time is going too fast 😥). Anyway, while doing some tidying, I found a pink ribbon and decided to tie my hair up with it, tied up in a bow (see?! See?! It does fit here 🤣). I swear I've never felt so complete in my life 😍

That's wonderful Maria. So pleased for you.
Looking at some of my selfies tonight, I thought to myself that I was really missing a bow in some of them.

I'm telling you guys.....bows......that is really all it takes. Probably the most feminine thing ever.
There is a reason so many female athletes wear bows. Could be bloodied and dirty, with facepaint and dirt stains and sweat and messy hair.....but the bow is the great equalizer.

I think I like the second and third the best. Not sure why, but the first one doesn't grab me quite the same way!

Speaking with my sister about family history yesterday triggered a memory of about my mother concerning bows. She wore them in her hair so frequently as a little girl, that her family stopped calling her given name, and called her Bow instead. I believe they did this for decades and only really stopped once she got married at 33. As I've mentioned before I look so much like her, and it genuinely feels nice to carry on her legacy.
