As seems to be the case with so many people in our position, I've never really had any inclination towards, or gotten any joy from, fancy dress or anything like that. And then having now discovered this side of myself, it now does seem appealing, but only if I could do so in a gender-affirming way.
So my question to you all is: with Halloween just around the corner, what would your costume of choice be? Maybe we could get a mental picture of what a Halloween party would look like if the group of us were to hold one!
For me, as is probably given away by my avatar, first choice would be to go as Supergirl lol. But if that wasn't allowed, then maybe a simple pirate girl outfit. Something like Kiera Knightley in Pirates of the Carribean.

An excellent question Maria. My initial thought was Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo. However if you're going to wear a costume, wear something that stands out, not just a sweater and skirt much like I wear most days.. As mentioned in the Games thread I am huge Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest fan, and there's plenty of great outfits to be found there. My favourite characters from those franchises are Rikku (FF) and Serena (DQ). So one of their many outfits. My favourite of Rikku's is her Psychic outfit from FFX-2 As for Serena, it has to be this If I had to pick one I'd go for the second probably because of the cape and the circlet. I know there's much better looking costumes out there, but I'd like to wear something more meaningful to me. I have a very strong attachment to both of these characters, so to dress up as one of them for the night would feel wonderful.

Right now I am too exausted to think to much about this haha. BUT it is an awesome topic so I'll put my first thought and maybe tomorrow I can think it over and have a better answer. As it is, this is my first thought! Or maybe this.....

Jessica, you'd look amazing in either of these. You could probably wear the second under the first, and become the good girl corrupted to the bad as you get more and more drunk. I see that pic of Rikku isn't showing I hope these work

Well I just came here to basically make a very similar thread again and realised that I had already done so last year lol! As an aside from re-reading it, did you see that Velma is now confirmed in the Scooby Doo universe as being a lesbian, Lily?
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago with Halloween coming up and being talked about a lot once again, I decided that I would get something. I hadn't bought any clothing for a little while, so thought that I would treat myself. Even if I wouldn't actually get to wear it for any kind of event or party, just so that I could tick it off my wish list pretty much. As you can probably guess (especially if you re-read this thread lol) it's a Supergirl costume that I found on eBay for about £15. It arrived a few days later and when I tried it on... I dunno, it was like some next-level euphoria moment lol. I don't know if it's because I bought it in quite an optimistic size, so it's very form-fitting and surprisingly flattering, or if it's because it's something specific that I'd wanted for ages and finally got. Or maybe just the "fun" feeling of dressing up, having never done it before (certainly not in anything that I'd felt good dressed up in). Probably a mix of the three.
The reason it's taken me a while to post about it is that I did take some photos at the time and have been debating sharing them at the same time as this post. I've finally decided against though. While the costume itself is very flattering both in real life and in the photos, the bits of me that aren't covered by it aren't flattered by the photo at all. And if I cropped those out, it just looked quite strange. Maybe I'll try again at some later point lol!

That's so much fun!
I am going as Mickey Mouse this year as my little ones are also doing a Micky Mouse theme.
But the "League of their Own" idea would probably still be my first go to haha.

There is a lot of fanart of her getting it on with Daphne. That sounds like a wonderful experience for you. As you suggest the euphoria was so strong because of all the factors involved. I don't think I'd be dressing up as anyone to a party until after I came out. It's highly unlikely that the situation will occur though. However in the last few days I did think of dressing up as a character from Dragon Quest XI, Queen Frysabel. It's definitely the glasses. Queen Frysabel wiki entry
