I got recommended two books to read today regarding the trans experience by my counsellor.
Yes, You Are Trans Enough, by Mia Violet, and Gender Euphoria, edited by Laura Kate Dale.
The first recounts the author's experience in discovering that they were trans. Like me she didn't have those well-known classic signs - feeling like a woman trapped in a man's body, and playing with dolls when you were a child. Again like me the lack of those signs got in the way of her discovering who she really was.
The other is a compilation of various writers recounting their experiences of gender euphoria. The writers come from all across the trans spectrum not just trans women, but the trans masculine and non-binary too.
Anyone else with any recommended reading?

Just a quick addendum - If I recall correctly, the Gender Euphoria book is centred around how the writers found their true gender identity, and how euphoria helped them do that

I will have to look into those books, thank you for the recommendations I actually just last night finished reading 'Trans' by Juliette Jacques (I hope I've spelled her name right), which was a really interesting book. There was the workbook which I think I mentioned to you right back in the very early days of this forum, other than that I think the only other book I've read on the subject is 'Tranny' by Laura Jane Grace. That book I read at the very start of my journey. I saw her on stage on the Thursday (which is where I had THE first "cracking" moment), bought the book and started reading it on the Friday and by the Saturday was getting a sinking feeling of dread and realisation at how much of those first chapters detailing her early life I related very, very strongly to. They're both very good, although both come from the perspective of trans women who knew from an early age what made them different to the boys around them. The second also puts a lot of emphasis on the musical journey as well as the gender journey, so if you're not a fan of the band's music there will be long stretches of book that most likely mean very little to you lol.

Outstanding topic. I have absolutely nothing to add. But I will take you up on those suggestions.
