This evening on that Trans Doctor Who Discord I've recently joined, someone asked about the monthly costs of HRT. Amongst the replies someone posted a link to GenderGP, who describe themselves as an online gender clininc. I got the impression that at least one of the members there uses their services. They seem to be a private healthcare service that can provide transitioning, of course this includes access to HRT. None of the costs seem so very expensive, and so seem fairly affordable It made me start to really think that transitioning could happen sooner for me than I think. I'm not about to see if they're really legit, or get in contact with them, not yet anyway. I have my local LGBT+ support group for guidance on transitioning, and would think that private healthcare will be something that's discussed sooner or later. It was already on my mind to do that. However the idea that it could happen sooner, has made me start to think on when I might be ready to begin. Including in this, beginning to ask myself, would I be ready now? This is isn't me getting my hopes up too high, this is just me really starting to think about the reality of it all, and not so much thinking on the hope, dream or ambition of transitioning. To really consider all the implications of actually starting on HRT and the changes that would bring.

I have heard of gender GP before actually. Like you, I thought "hmm, this seems too good to be true", so went on their site and read reviews of them elsewhere. Sadly not because I'm in a position to actually use their services, more idle curiosity really. But everything that I read seemed to check out. I didn't find anything to suggest that they are anything other than what they claim to be. So as far as I can tell, they are very much a viable option to investigate further š

I asked about this last night, and have got some info from someone that uses them. They are legit, and while the service has been out of this world, it has been perfectly adequate. My fellow trans Who fan filled out a very long questionaire, once that was reviewed, they had an assessment via Zoom and then got a prescription. They have to pay a Ā£30 monthly fee, and send in blood test results.
Though I know I'm not ready to start all that yet, this was very good information to get from someone that's actually used this service. More food for thought.
