It's just a coincidence Why Captain Marvel and Supergirl have the same last name
You might be surprised to know that Marvel weren't the first comic book publisher to have a superhero called Captain Marvel. A company called Fawcett did. He rivalled Superman in popularity back in the 40s and 50s. He's the main character in the Shazam! film. Lol I guess not! Can you tell I don't read all the new posts before I respond?

I've been thinking about middle names. Which one do I think my parents would have given me? Which one would I choose for myself. My younger brother and I both have middle names stolen from our grandfathers, but my youngest sibling....my sister....has a seperate middle name that isn't a family name. I wonder if I would have gotten a grandmother's name or maybe the name my sister ended up getting.....or maybe something else entirely. Both my grandmothers had pretty old fashioned names, where my grandfathers' were timeless. So I don't know.
I have not come to any conclusions yet.

If you're thinking what your parents might have given you then possibly it would've been one of your sister's names.
For me I would like you to think what you would like to have, a name of your own choice that is meaningful to you. For you that could be the name of a relative. For me, when choosing my first name, I didn't want any of those as I didn't want to feel that I was in any way a copy of someone. The middle name was a lot easier, as that's mainly for my own use, unlike the first name which everyone will use.

I know what first name my parents would have given me because they told me: Jessica. Which is not a name my sister has. That is why I chose that name, that is the meaning it has. It is the name I would have had. That is why I lean that way for a middle name. But I don't think there is a definitive answer there. So I need to find meaning in another way. And also pick something that fits together with my first name in a lovely way.

Could you subtly ask your parents what your middle name could've been? You are lucky. Jessica is a great name. If you didn't have that name, I would've seriously considered it for myself. I may have gone with my mum's choice had it been better. It would've been Alison for me, which I just don't like. Would you have stuck with your parents choice had it been something like Ethel or Gertrude? Those would've spoilt the cheerleader vibes I think

Lol, no I do not think I would have! You are right. I am lucky that name happened to be a nice one. It was a very common one in the late 80s/early 90s at least in America. Fits me perfectly.
I am currently thinking of my sports heroes and trying to do a middle name from that. None really work at the moment. I'll keep thinking about it.
