It's Mother's Day here in the UK today. My sister and her son are spending some time together. They're having a nice meal and some wine at her apartment.
For me the build-up has been a bit of a downer. I haven't had a mother to celebrate with since 1994, but though it has been a bit sad, it hasn't been anything I've dwelt on. I used to regret that I didn't have a partner to celebrate with, a mother of my children.
There has been a new perspective though fro soon after I worked out that I was trans. I had that very intense experience where I found these previously hidden maternal feelings. So now there is all this extra sadness around Mother's Day, that somehow this could've been a day for me.
I am trying to make the best of it, and will be keeping myself occupied. I'm treating myself a little with some candy later. So I don't expect to get too down about it today.

I saw a friend on social media posted a mothers day post. He lives in the UK with an English woman (his wife). Scared me half to death. Thought I missed mothers day. But I guess it is different in the US. Phew.

Yeah, it's different here. Like I believe that our clocks changing happened on a different date to yours going forwards.
It did again make me a little sad when shopping for mother's day stuff with little one. Seeing all the lovely trinkets and gifts and knowing that none would be coming my way š
