A few days ago I took what was debatably either a large step, or a fairly small one that makes no difference. I think it depends how you look at it. Where I have a double wardrobe, it has been the case since I started building my collection of female clothes that the one on the left is for my disguise attire, and the one on the right has the clothes that I want to wear (plus a couple of spare guitars lol). And that side had generally been a thoroughly disorganised mess. I'd been thinking for a while though, that the hanging rail on the left side was taken up mostly by shirts. Which I never, ever wear because I just find them uncomfortable (physically and mentally). In fact I could tell you the last few times I wore one: funeral, funeral, funeral... At the bottom of the right wardrobe I had a plastic storage container, which had some extra clothes that hadn't fitted into the main bit. So I took that out, and emptied it out. I then took 90% of the shirts (I left a couple just in case), folded them and put them into the plastic box. That went back into the wardrobe, and I used the space that that had freed up in the left wardrobe to hang up all my dresses. Which then freed a lot of space in the right one to organise everything that's not a dress that bit better.
So in some ways a small, not very exciting step - I still have the exact same number of each type of clothes. But the ones that society might expect me to be comfortable in are that bit more buried now, and a little harder to get to, while the ones that I want to wear because I feel good about myself in them are hanging proudly on the rail, easy to look through, access and choose from!

This all sounds like a really simple but powerful move. A step to put the priorities that you have about your presentation into a visible reality.
Your situation had been similar to how mine is. I have a wardrobe full of shirts and other male attire, while my proper clothes are in a box or strewn on top of that and all about my room. There is however a damp problem in my room which makes the wardrobe unsafe for long-term storage. So I can't really take the steps you've just taken until that's dealt with.

This situation is such a mental obstacle course. Things that seems small on the surface end up being huge things to us. Its all about perception. If it were me, just knowing that I had a closet full of dresses at home like any other woman would make me very happy. So it sounds great!

Yeah it is nice knowing that they're hanging up proud, rather than stuffed in a folded pile that gradually becomes unfolded. And also it's nice being able to look through them to choose in the morning - like today where it was really hot it was really easy to find the perfect one rather than ending up thinking "ehh, you'll do because I'm bored of rummaging through" lol. It's very different to the disguise days (and the whole of my life up till a couple of years ago) when it was just a case of "you're top of the pile, I'll wear you" lol!
