Just wondering if anyone else here follows any trans-related YouTube channels? My absolute favourite is Jammidodger. He is a trans man, and all his videos about all walks of LGBTQ+ tend to be so funny, but also affirming and educational. A similar channel is One topic At A Time; he isn't trans but also does very affirming and amusing looks at LGBTQ+ things. I also like Charlie Martin (she's a trans race car driver - how cool is that?!), Mathilda Hogberg and Samantha Lux. Who do you enjoy on Youtube?

Maria,
I do not follow any trans related youtube channels, but I might now. I will definitely check these out.
I'd also like to thank you for being the first person to start a thread that isn't me haha.

I came across a YouTube channel a short while ago (for completely unrelated reasons) and after watching a couple of videos, noticed that they had a video about the philosophy of transphobia. So I watched it (it was very interesting) and scrolled through the comments afterwards. The top comment was from the Youtuber, saying "it's really odd watching this video back now that I have come out and transitioned"!
So that was a surprise, and I started watching more of their more recent videos (can't think why!) Anyway - last night I watched their Coming Out video, and honestly I think it's one of the most powerful things I've ever watched. It's quite long (37 minutes) but well worth it. Just... if you're anything like me, have tissues at the ready for the tears lol.

Just finished watching this. One thing that really resonated with me was towards the end when she mentioned about the positive side of it. That it makes her happy, and through my interpretation that affirms to her that living as a woman has been the right choice. Throughout the journey that I was on I always paid the most attention and put the most emphasis on was all the joy, elation and ecstasy that I felt, and not so much on all the soul searching. I didn't arrive at the conclusion that I was a trans woman because of feelings of dysphoria, but because of how happy living at least a little as a trans woman made me. Those were the really big clues and indicators that my journey was going in the right direction and that I arrived at the right destination.

I've just finished watching a livestream of a YouTuber by the name of verilybitchie. She's a non-binary trans woman who makes funny and informative videos on bi and trans issues. Here's one of her videos as an example.
The livestream was just her playing a short video game, then about an hour or so of chat. I participated a little bit which was really nice, and she responded to a number of my comments. I mentioned that I only recently discovered I was a woman, and I had a lot of congratulatory comments from others in the chat. It was really lovely, and it felt so good for her to call me Sandi. It was the first time outside of here that I was openly trans and talking about trans issues.

That's great! Must have felt really good! Any time you are recognized for who you are has to feel great. I'm glad you did that.

The livestream is available on YouTube to watch back. I've linked to just before I mention I'm a new lesbian, then you get Verily's reaction and some congratulations come in from other viewers. I've put a general link rather than embedded video because you can't see the chat on the video, but you can if you watch it in YouTube. Me coming out live on YouTube

It has to be awesome to get a little validation from a real person!

So... this is in no way trans related, but it is YouTube related, so this felt the best place for it (it really is not profound enough for its own thread lmao).
I found this YouTuber a couple of months ago, and this song in particular has been living rent-free in my head for pretty much all that time. I swear it just gets funnier every time I listen to it or watch the video. So I thought I should share the joy lol!

Hey gals, I am trying Dr. Z gender therapist. But like most trans YouTube channels I get scared my wife will find them and blow a gasket. So I delete them.

I like Dr Z's videos. They are perhaps a little more serious than the feel-good ones that I tend to gravitate towards, but there is some really good info in them 🙂
Angela - if you are watching them in the YouTube mobile app (although I'm sure this feature probably exists on the desktop site, tablet apps, etc) there is an incognito mode which won't keep any record of what you've watched, so you wouldn't have to remember to delete them afterwards 🙂 If you click the little circle with your first initial in it (top right for me) then it's one of the top options that that brings up!
