As many of you will know I have undergone a major development of myself over the past week. During this period I also heard an old post-punk song from the late '70s for the first time. It's being used in an Apple ad at the moment. I liked it and put it on my playlist. At first I didn't make any connection, but then the title and the lyrics started to resonate a bit.
The song is "Mind Your Own Business" by the Delta 5. As well as the refrain "Why don't your mind your own business?", the lyrics "Can I interfere in your crisis?" stuck out. "Can I interfere in your crisis?" being the attitude of all those anti-trans organisations and legislators. The other obviously being our attitudes to them "Get lost", "go away", "what's it to you", "leave us be".
The timing of discovering not only this song, but also my new acceptance, has made it a go-to song to play in this period of change.
Does anyone else have any music that resonates with your trans experience, that either inspires or comforts you?

The last two albums by Against Me have a lot of songs that are either directly or indirectly related to the experiences of their band leader, who came out as transgender before the first of those two albums was released. There is a song on there called True Trans Soul Rebel, which is one of my favourites. I also discovered a song called The Village, by Wrabel, recently. That brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it, and has been stuck in my head ever since. I'll check out the song you mentioned

I just watched video to the Village. Very good. Exactly how I've been feeling.
Also reminding myself of the transmale experience didn't do me any harm either.

Dear Prudence by the Beatles. Honestly I always thought that song was secretly about hidden trans women like us haha.
