Hey All,
Sorry for the slower responses lately. Work has been breaking my balls lately and it is showing no signs of slowing. I'm at work 10-12 hours and then I come home and play with my kids for awhile, go for a run and am pretty much beat and go to bed. So I check this in the morning but that may be it some days. Don't think I don't miss ya'll, but just wanted to give you an explanation.

It's still great to have you around, even if your time here is currently limited. xox, Sandi Mae

Thanks all. We are just starting to get into the busy season for me as a coach. It'll ebb and flow, but our competitions start next month so it wont get any less crazy. Summer is my slower time.

Jessica without getting personal what sport do you coach? Do you coach at the grade school, high school, or college level? You seem very much into your career which I admire. I love career minded powerful women. Kelli

Didn't think most of our European friends would understand what that is so I haven't gotten too much down the road of that. But that is it.

Does cross country have the same meaning in America as it does here? I did cross country running for a term at school once, and it was running a route across fields and through a forest. It was an odd sport, as the teacher in charge just sat in a chair out the front of the sports hall, saw everyone off and then you just kind of waved as you got back from the route and went off to get changed lol. It meant that the faster you could run the route, the faster you were done with sports for the afternoon though. I liked it actually. At the time I was a 14 stone 14 year old, so I was not fit and I was not fast. But I could put on some music, go at my own pace, and not have to be around anyone. And by the end of that term I was a lot fitter than I had been at the start. I was sad that they didn't do it the next year due to lack in interest.

Yes, that is basically what it is. My kids are college aged and are recruited specifically for the task. Most get some sort of scholarship assistance from the university to be on the team. All were stars on their high school teams so they are all pretty good and train very seriously. It isn't just anyone can join or do it, not like a class anyone can take. The team is handpicked and very competitive. Most of my athletes come to our school specifically to run cross country, and I spend a lot of time recruiting. The men run 10 kilomenter races while the women usually run 6 kilometers.
I also coach the distance runners on the track team, most of which are also my cross country runners.
If you know anything about college football or basketball here in the States, it is like that only cross country and track.
