I echo that sentiment. I felt very much the same while watching the triathlon. That was a hard race held in some appalling conditions early on. They endured and battled away to beat each other. I thought of all that hard work they put in to get their bodies to perform so well at this event. Their feminity was still there to see, especially after the end of the race when they interacted with each other at the finish line. I don't see it as that much of a dichotomy though. I don't think competitiveness is a gendered quality, and everyone is multi-faceted and has different sides to them.

Indeed. I have said it many times but elite female athletes are fascinating to me. To be able to convey such strength and competitiveness but retain a femininity. I love it.
