Hope I'm not spoiling too much here, but there is more story and more boss battles, even after you defeat Mordegon. If you saw all the end credits, you should have got a save from which you can continue.

Hi Maria,
concerning dragon quest. Each time the main story is not the most difficult. It allows everyone to be able to finish it. In particular with a high level team. The most difficult quest are still here but are not mandatory. There are many quest after the end. about the trilogy of tomb raider, it is a must have. I finished all of them and I loved it. Tomb raider is one of my favorite game. It was my first game on PS 1, a long time ago. I discovered the game and bought the first PS with soulblade (I like Taki). I’m not really fond of ESO alone and I never met somebody with the same game hours and who want to make a team of 2. Then I gave up.

I found out the other day about a game called Celeste. It's an old-school platformer type of game. What caught my attention though, was that apparently it has a very moving story and... the main character who you play as is a trans woman!
I've put it on my Xbox wishlist for now, and thought I'd mention it in case any of you are fans of that type of game 😊

I have played and beaten it. The story is good. It is a battle with your demons and mental health. It isn't expressly said that the main character is trans but the game creator has said so after the fact.
It is a VERY difficult platformer, but that is OK because you don't have to backtrack AT ALL. You can try the same screen over and over and over until you get it. And when you die you instantly come back to life at the beginning of the screen. If you enjoy a challenging platformer you'll enjoy it. I very much did.

Hmm seeing as I have no skill whatsoever at those sorts of games, maybe it isn't one for me after all then 😕 That's a shame, but I guess it's better to know that now, rather than after I've bought it and given up after 3 hours attempting the same screen lol!

As part of my routine to stave off low moods, I have been playing one of my favourite games Dragon VIII - Journey of the Cursed King. This might be my favourite game ever, it's certainly in my top 3. I've got my old PS2 out and am using the original disk I bought back in the mid-noughties.
I particularly love it for its Western localization (it's a Japanese game) which has really great voice acting and an assortment of accents. The best of those voices is the actor who does the voice for Yangus, a Cockney-accented bandit who's gone straight (as in given up his criminal activities) He really adds warmth and depth to the character that many others wouldn't have given him.
Unlike Dragon Quest XI there's only 4 party members not 8, and only one of the four is female - a red-headed mage called Jessica. At least you can put her in the front and see her walking about the world. Some of her armour changes her appearance too, though none of it really suitable for adventuring. There's a dancer's costume, a bunny girl outfit, a magical bikini (which you get directly before venturing into a cold snowy area), and two different bustiers - one of which suitably has the lowest defense for armour in the game. Though lookswise she is definitely designed for the male gaze, her character is well written and is delightfully voiced by her voice actor.
I have action figures for both Yangus and Jessica, which is always a good indication of how much I love a character. It is particularly rare or me to have a figure of a male character. I also have figures for two of the monsters from the game, a king slime and a cyclops. I also have two CD sets for the game's music - one the original midi score, the other the orchestral version. My favourite piece of merch for the game is a keyring based on of the important items you get in the game - the Ultimate Key. As a result whenever I'm out I always have a little piece of the game with me.

Wow, when you said it is your favorite game you really back it up!! That is some dedication.
I googled Jessica, and as far as use of the namesake I approve. I love me a busty redhead. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks to both of you for your responses.
In writing that post, remembering all the merch I had, and sharing my love for it with you made me realise just how much the game meant to me. I'll add one more thought about it - it is just such charming escapism for me, it gives me genuine respite from real life.
While I was writing the post I was imagining myself telling you all about it as if we were face-to-face. It felt that in some way you were with me, even though you're so far away. Well Maria isn't that far, but you know what I mean.

i don’t know this game Jess, It seems quite old, I have no idea about if and if you will enjoy.
after finishing twice cyberpunk. i began mass effect, with the legendary edition. It is a classical game very well known, I’m sure you know it, quite old, 10 years but still excellent. It will be a surprise for you but my character is named Chloé Shepard, surprising isn’t it? the story is fabulous and the 3 games are related. I love this game
did play mass effect befor, girls?

I played the first two and bought the third but I gave up on it. To no-one's surprise of course I played a female character. A blonde Vanguard, Kara Shepard IIRC. I'm not very good at playing ranged characters so Vanguard was the best option. I stopped playing the third one because I couldn't quite handle the fast-paced combat anymore. I know it got a lot of criticism because of the ending but I never even got that far.
I romanced Liara in the first game, not sure about the second, it was either her or Tali. Who did you get involved with Chloe?

Mass Effect is my wifes favorite game. I've played the first with her as a backseat gamer and really enjoyed it! I still have the other two on my to do list.
