I've just gotten to the part where we get on Sylvando's ship and sail to Zvarrdsrust (or however it's spelled) so even sooner now! Hi Maria, you continued DQXI? Where are you. 💋 Chloé

I've felt a bit shy to share this with you before. I've just started a new playthrough of Pathfinder - Kingmaker. It's a Western RPG based on an edition of Dungeons and Dragons. Your main character can form a party of six. There are a variety of fully fleshed out characters you can pick to be in your party. However I thought I'd so something different and create four characters so that the four of you regulars can be in the party instead.
I am a paladin who serves the goddess of beauty, art and love. I kick enemies butt, defend the squishier party members, and can provide some buffs and heals too. I look human, but one of my ancestors got down with an angel, so I get to have a halo.
Chloé Halfling (i.e. hobbit) rogue. A dodge tank. You're there to take the blows so that the rest of us don't have to. Don't worry you'll be too small and quick to be hit most of the time.
Jessica Human barbarian. There for pure damage. You hit enemies with a big sword, and have a pet sabretooth tiger. Your pet can put in a lot of damage himself.
Maria Human bard. There for support and buffs. Your sub-class is called Thundercaller, soon your song will be able to strike foes with thunder, both damaging and stunning them.
Kelli Ann Human cleric. Sorry but someone has to be the healer. As a consolation you will get a pet leopard once you level up a few times. You also have the nicest outfit in your portrait.
The sixth member is a character already in the game. She's a half-elf Wizard-Rogue called Octavia. She is most importantly a romance option.
What do you think of your characters? Sorry so many of you are boring humans, but that was just the best option for your roles.

Hi, I agree with your choice. I’m your tank, it suits me. It’s quite unusual to have a halfling as tank but in ADD 3rd edition I was a palatin dwarf, everything is possible after all. thanks for your choice Sandi 💋 Chloé

Sounds perfect - I always actually prefer playing as a human even in games where I could be something else. I'm a singer with the power of Thor - that sounds amazing

You're completely and utterly min-maxed. It has 5 different classes, Rogue, Alchemist, Monk and two prestige classes based on Rogue and Fighter. As a fellow nerd I thought you might appreciate more info.

Hahaha! This is great! Thank you so much for sharing. I'd like to name my lion Kevin!
I used to do this with my friends on Oregon Trail. Did you all Europeans have Oregon Trail? It is basically a right of passage for American kids.

Sure Kevin it is. The only Oregon Trail I know was some old TV programme from the '70s. What is it?

I actually found a D&D starter set for sale yesterday. I was really tempted by it, but then remembered that there's only one person I know who has ever expressed any kind of interest in that kind of thing. And I imagine it would be a pretty rubbish game with only two people I just got to the bit in DQ where you go to the Dundrasil ruins with Jade and Rab. I was sobbing my heart out! Just heart-wrenching. God, if I'm like this already, just imagine what I'd be like if I ever did have the correct hormones flowing through me 😂

You really need 4 people for D&D from what I've seen, 3 at a minimum. I've only ever watch D&D streams and never played. There is a solo table-top RPG that I've been playing called Ironsworn. You can also play it as a co-op too. It's completely free to play and it can either be run online or with pen & paper and some dice. I was right in the middle of my character's story when I first came here. It's been on hold because the way I play it uses a lot of brain power. I was effectively using it as a story-telling device. It is an amazing system, and the mechanics are very simple, you only need three dice. If you are interested in proper role-play then I would definitely recommend it. The default setting is more Iron Age than high fantasy, but you can create whatever world you can imagine. There's even been a recent supplement that enables a sci-fi setting and space exploration. Here's a link to the website IronswornThose scenes in Dundrasil are very emotional. I sob my heart out whenever I watch those. Rab's voice actor does outstanding work there.

Sure Kevin it is. The only Oregon Trail I know was some old TV programme from the '70s. What is it? I like it when animals have human names. The Oregon trail is the path early settlers took from the east side of the country to settle in the west in the 1800s using horse and buggy. There is a game that simulates that journey that could be found on pretty much every Amcerican classroom computer in the 90s and 2000s. "You have died of dysentery" is the meme that came from it. That is the OG version. I am a little younger so I had a later version. It had built in characters played by actors but you could give them any name you want. I usually gave them my friend's name. I am not surprised it is an American thing. But it is ubiquitous to American kids under (and over) a certain age.

Hi jess, no oregon trail, in the old Europe, there wasn’t the same history, no colonies as there was in US. Chloé

The creator says that the ideal way to play is co-op because you get to bounce ideas off each other. I've really enjoyed playing solo but it is tricky to constantly come up with all the new secanarios myself.

That makes sense. Maybe when I get a chance I could have a little go in solo mode to get an idea of what it's like and if it's something that might appeal, and if so then broach it as something to maybe do as a co-op. Plus then hopefully I'd have a fair idea of how it all works so we're not both just sat there trying to puzzle through it at the same time lol.
